I was wondering if there has been any news or updates as to when new members can register? I still don't understand why they have locked it so no renewals or new memberships can be made
Meat said over a year ago that he was moving to another company to run his website. Then there was an announcement by Signatures/Fanfire that the website was being redesigned and that no new memberships nor renewals would be accepted. Since then nothing .. and almost all the members have been locked out.
Oh .. and the "moderator" said somewhat testily some months ago when there was some conflict or other, not to be surprised if Meat didn't have a forum on the new site .. though how seriously this was meant I have no idea.
With Twitter Meat is keeping his fans updated on what he's doing. Some see this as a decision not to have a fanclub website, but I don't see the two as mutualy exclusive. Other performers have both official sites (for merchandising, ticket sales etc as well as using Twitter to keep in touch. Meat has said he will tour again in 2010 after the album launch, and I would have thought then he'd want a fanclub website in place .. and of course Twitter would be an ideal place to announce it, given he has over 3000 followers there.
Of course Twitter has one big advantage for Meat .. anyone who is rude or insulting or just plain nasty .. he can block them in a nanosecond, rather than have to go through some convoluted process with Signatures .. there's a thought .. lol
In the meantime some have gathered on Facebook and Twitter. I prefer a forum and am content to view Meat's Tweets and chat here .. and you are most welcome of course :))
