Meat is now eligible for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame This is his time!!
With many thanks to Janice Eckel, a fan in the US who did some initial research, ROL started a petition which we sent with 500 signatures to the Induction Committee last year. He wasn't selected last year, so we need to redouble our efforts.
We are calling on Meat's fans to
* sign the next petition
* write an individual letter to the committee
* spread the word amongst Meat's fans.
This is one situation when lobbying is in order and indeed expected. We have invited other websites to join us in the campaign, and hope to get the support of Meat's many, many fans. If anyone richly deserves his place in the Hall of Fame it is Meat.

Just read the list of 2005 inductees. What else do we have to do to get Meat Loaf up there? Are they ignoring him because of the 'singer who acts; actor who sings' label?

i did it last year, ill do it again this year............in fact however more longer it takes!!! Why cant they just put him in what more does they guy have to do!!!!!!!
I don't think Meat has to do anything more, Major Loafer. In fact, if he never did anything else again (shudder at the thought), he's earned his stripes. Now it's time for us to all band together to get him where he belongs.

The nominations committee make their decisions in I believe October, so late summer is I guess the time to lobby again .. For some reason I cannot fathom they appear to have no interest in Meat's huge contribution to Rock and Roll .. It baffles me, and I'm prepared to keep on lobbying, but really I don't have much hope as they move to awarding the honour to younger people and/or groups whose contribution to Rock seems to me to be minimal compared to Meat who's made an outstanding contribution for over 30 years .. He isn't as prolific in releasing albums as some (and is the first to say this) but those he has have made an outstanding contribution .. and he has toured and packed arenas throughout his long career. Just baffling imo ..

I heard that the head of the committee has no time for Meat (for whatever reason, I know not) and there would seem to be little we can do unless that biased attitude, or head of committee changes. Notwithstanding, I send off my letter each year in the vain hope.
Hmm, just had a thought to add to my letter this year. "Laying bias aside ..."
Off to re-work my letter. Polite, but to the point.
