RE: What Is Your Favorite Meat Loaf Movie .. and Why ?

Hi... well, since my last posting I have now seen 'Crazy in Alabama' and '51st State'.

I loved the first for Meat's role, the heartwarmingness of it all...not sure there's such a word as that but you get my point...and the dark storyline that took me by surprise but made it an incredibly powerful film Shocked

The second was as good but in a different way. Talk about action packed...I daren't look away for a second! How funny was it too? I was in stitches from just about the beginning to the end! Too Funny

However, having now seen four of his movies I can no longer decide which is my favourite...the decisions just too difficult!!! Ponder    I Dunno

Ok Everyone, now that Ive found this place, all your old threads will be getting a new lease on life.

I havent seen a lot of Meats Movies

When finances are allowing it, I have been purchasing as many as I can get a hold of. Unfortunately with the regions on DVD, some just are not available in Australia.  Still working on finding a adaptor for my DVD, mines only a cheap one and the adaptors that I can find wont work.

Ive seen

Rocky Horror Picture Show, which is one of my fav movies not just for Meat, but it was one of the first movies I saw when I was younger.

I have now seen him in

Trapped, Fight Club, Black Dog, Formula 51, Crazy in Alabama, Roadie, Gun in Betty Lou's Handbag (paused it when Meat was on screen)

My all time favorite is

"Roadie"

Travis Redfish is the best

I know he is great at and loves playing the bad guy and the mean ones.  But I just love the comedy in Roadie.

Rocky Horror Picture Show comes a close second.

Take Care All

So many of Meat's roles have touched a nerve in one way or another with me.  That's a mark of his acting ability to reach out and individually affect the audience.  I can't get past Lizard in Formula 51.  Haven't used an umberella since and can't keep a straight face when anyone starts whining.  Call me twisted.

I wouldnt call you twisted Rockette.  With everyone talking about all the different movies, it has made me get out the DVD's that I havent watched for a while and watch them again.

I must admit that Meat plays a fantastic role as Lizard, but I just love it when he smiles and love it when he plays a happy part like Travis Redfish.  I much prefer happy light movies than the deep dark ones.

Have a great day everyone.

Got hold of an early draft of The Salton Sea screenplay and would love to have seen Bo's intended dialogue. Or maybe it was actually filmed but sadly left on the cutting room floor Wish I had seen the film before reading the draft screenplay.

I still havent seen Wishcraft or the Salton Sea, believe it or not I havent even seen Spice World.  Believe he was very funny in it as all his lines were ad-libbed.

Have a nice day everyone.

Hi,

I did'nt see many of his movies but at the moment I would say mya favorit one is Everything That Rises because for the funny moments he creates. Do you remember te scene in the store where this old woman ask him what he's measuring?

Guess what, since last I posted on this thread. I know have Salton Sea and Wishcraft. Boy I like both those movies. I would love to have seen more of Meats part in Salton Sea. But I did like what I saw.

Just thought I would fill you all in. Roadie is still my all time favorite.

Bye For Now

I am sooooo jealous of you, Alex. I haven't seen hide nor hair of A Hole in One yet. At least, not in country Australia.

I have to admit, I have a new favourite comedy movie since seeing "Extreme Dating". This movie brings Meat's comedic skills to the fore.

I think I've seen all of his movies at least once.  I have quite a few on DVD and VHS.  Favorites are "Roadie", "Black Top", and "Leap of Faith".  I don't know if this counts since it's not a movie, but my favorite Meat TV is "Mail order Bride".

lol .. I think we lknow why you like Mail Order Bride :)) One very special scene :))

I think my favourite film has to be Focus, because Meat gives such a great performance in it .. and I love Everything That Rises, which showcases so well his light touch with humour.

Most missed movie? Polish Spagetti, for which the funding didn't come through, because Meat was to play the lead, and it was billed as a light romantic comedy. I too enjoyed Black Top very much .. another movie where Meat had the lead and gave such a compelling performance .. so much more enjoyable than a cameo role .. he gets to develop a character and show you what he's made of as an actor.
