Ardgillan, Dublin 18 June

Ok, I'm not the world's best when it comes to concert reviews, but I shall have a go...

FABULOUS, AMAZING, WONDERFUL.

The end

Mel C was great, really rockin.  Status Quo, well what can I say???  Absolutely superb, so great to see these wonderful legends on stage.  They were funny, and made what they were doing look so easy.  They really got the crowd rockin.  I would have loved Meat to come out on stage and join them, now that would have been cool

Got a glimpse of Meat, Kasim, John, Paul and Randy at the side of the stage during Mel C's performance.  I was at the front which was fantastic.  I did get a crick in my neck from looking up at the stage, but hey, that was a small price to pay  When Meat came on I felt the whole crowd surge forward, and actually felt a little uneasybut it was ok, as the security men were deffo on the ball (so much so that I was spotted with my camera and got it confiscatedI must learn to be a bit more discreet)

Meat and the band looked and sounded in superb form.  The two new songs are fab, especially Only When I Feel, where Meat started off singing it sitting on a stool, then he kicked the stool away, in that oh so masterful way...and began to prowl around the stage, pure Meat Loaf heaven!  Before he sang it, he put 3 fingers in the air and simply said, 'from Bat3', after which the audience cheered.  AFL was a shorter version than usual, but still a great performance from Meat and Patti, as was Paradise, where Patti called Meat a 'fat f**k'!  It was great to see Mark Alexander up front at the start of the show playing guitar, and Paul had his wonderful 'Rockingbird' guitar, which sounded superb (didn't expect anything less than excellent from him )  Oh yeah, and I lurrved Black Betty, so cool!).  Bat was probably one of the best I've heard live, it was tight, it was dramatic...oh yeah, and it TOTALLY ROCKED Dublin!!!!

All in all, it was great to see Meat and the band.  Meat looked fit and healthy, and in fine voice.  I watched him as he left the stage, and to me, he seemed to walk off with as much energy as when he walked on, which was good to see.  I think the setlist suited the venue and the time constraints perfectly.  It wasn't exclusively a Meat Loaf audience, as there were plenty of Quo fans about!  There was something for everyone, two new songs for us, and plenty of 'classics' for all the others!  Speaking of the audience, I have to say that the Irish are wonderful, wonderful people.  That was certainly the best audience I have ever been a part of at any Meat show for sure (for sure??  Lol, even the local phrases have rubbed off on me!!).  I know Meat has said in the past that he loves performing in Ireland and after Saturday I can understand why.  During Took the Words where Meat had us clapping and singing, he actually applauded the crowd and claimed that it was the best he'd heard in 30 years!  Yes I know he's probably said similar at other venues, but he seemed to be genuinely pleased by the audience reaction.  I just love Dublin, everyone is so appreciative and so friendly.  On the bus ride back to the guest house, the whole bus was rockin with everyone singing and dancing.  They made us English feel so at home...THANKS DUBLIN!  I can't believe I've never been before, it was only a 30 minute flight across the Irish sea!

Well, I could drone on and on, but I am well aware of how boredom may have set in now  Just wanted to share a great experience with you all.  I'm at Harewood House next on 3rd July, and I cannot wait!

Guess what Meat's final words to us were???...DON'T YOU EVER...

EVER...

EVER...

STOP...

ROCKIIIIIIIIIIIIIIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for your great review.  Did they give your camera back to you later.

You are making all of us in OZ so jealous.  We would all love to be there with all of you lucky people who are getting to see Meat Live.

When you see him on stage can you yell out to him that his fans in Australia want to see him again.  PLEASE

Keep the reviews coming we just love to hear what Meat is upto on stage.  I close my eyes and imagine that I am there.  I keep going back to March 2004 when I finally got to see him in concert.  I hope I get another chance when Bat III comes out.

Well boss will be back soon, better get back to work this time

Bye All, talk to you all soon

What a GREAT review CHSIBM!!!

I was at that concert also. I too flew over from manchester. I went for my 17th Birthday, we were outside the gates at 10am waiting for them to open, i had nothing to eat, drink and didnt go to the loo either all day, but it was soooooooo worth it cos we got right to the front, like right up against the barriers. If you were towards the frontish you probly would have seen me cos i went soo mad when meat got on the stage, it was only my 2nd meat concert and i have never seen him that close up before, it was amazing!!

You right about the irish too, it was a great atmosphere and everyone was sooooo friendly. Sorry to hear bout your camera i managed to get some pics off my phone, the quality isnt that great but they are there as a reminder!!

Hey there Major!!

You do realise we could have been standing next to one another and not known it? I was at the front sort of on Kasim's side, which side were you?  Were you anywhere near the German fans?

Glad you enjoyed yourself, and your bladder lasted

Take care

Batgirl xxxxxxxx

PS:  A belated 'happy birthday' to you
