Forever Young

Simply beautiful and pignant cover of this Dylan song. And I have a question I'd love Meat to answer.

He always has a character for each song .. but this one he chose because he thought it was a perfect ending for the new album, and was by way of a thank you and goodbye to his fans .. so I wonder when he recorded it was his character Meat Loaf? Was this him standing on a stage, his fans gathered in their many, many hundreds of thousands back as far as the eye could see  ...  whilst he stood in a single spotlight on an otherwise empty stage as he sent this message of love and thanks to all those who have fallen under his magic spell .. People whose lives he has touched in ways he can only imagine, in whose hearts, minds and souls a million images are imprinted forever, and who will somewhere inside stay forever young with this wonderful m,an who has climbed his ladder so very, very well, and whose star shines still on him and dazzles us?

  Great question, Caryl.

This song, sung with Meats passion and deep emotion, often brings a tear to my eye. It is a beautiful thank you and endearing message of love.. sent by a man, who trully loves and cares for his thousands of fans. It is one of my very favorite Meat Loaf songs.  J.

He did a great job covering Dylan's song...With his magnificent voice, he really brought the song to life for me, and as it's a beautiful song by any standard...with Meat it was Perfection. It's one of my favorite songs to listen to off the spectacular album, Couldn't Have Said It Better.  Absolutely fantastic!

What a great question Caryl!  I had never really thought of it in that way....now I have one more reason to love this song!  I have always enjoyed Rod Stewart's version of this, but Meat's sounds so much more personal- Rod is singing a classic Dylan tune, but Meat seems to be speaking directly to the listener- does that make sense?  I do hope that Meat answers your questions, I'd be very interested to read what he has to say.
