Yeah! As a librarian, this topic thrills me far too much! The last book that I read was "Dizzy and Jimmy". It is the true story of Dizzy Sheridan's (she played Jerry's mom on Seinfeld) intense romance with a then unknown struggling actor named James Dean. It is a very interesting book for Dean fans, getting to see a side of of him that they would otherwise not know about. I especially liked it because it told about a visit that Dizzy and Jimmy made to his childhood home in Fairmount, Indiana (USA) and I have been there several times so it was very interesting to read Dizzy's impressions of the town. Highly recommended for Dean fans.
The next book that I will be starting is "Salmon of A Doubt" by Douglas Adams. From what I gather, it is literally what was left on his computer when Adams died a few years ago. I love all the Hitchhikers Guide books, so it should be good.

Just finished reading(a few weeks ago) "The Five People You Meet in Heaven" by Mitch Albom, author of "Tuesdays with Morrie". I think TFPYMIH is the most interesting piece of fiction I have ever read. I highly reccomend it! The story is about a mans death and when he leaves this earthly plain.. encounters five people from his life time, they maybe friends, family and maybe even strangers..whose path has crossed or been changed or altered at sometime by coming in contact with or through this man life. It is very thought provoking and a great read. 12/10. Note: Only drawback is, it's a small book and can be read in a couple of days or less if you're a speed reader, and it is a little pricey. J.

Just finished reading The Vanished Man by Jeffery Deaver - this is one of the Lincoln Rhyme thrillers and a bloody good read.
I have enjoyed all the series but this one was especially delicious as it has an "illusionist" slant to it. Twists and turns makes you think about the prerspective of reality and apart from the "crimes" as wever tpuches on the human/emotion/relationship aspect of the characters.
I tend to read autobiography books rather than fiction although I am a little partial to James Patterson... in fact anything to do with crime! That leads me to one of my favourite books... ' The Jigsaw Man ' by Paul Britton. He is a forensic psychologist here in England who has worked on many high profile murder cases. Gruesome reading I guess and not for the faint hearted but fascinating, interesting reading into the minds of people who commit such crimes. Not sure where this morbid curiosity of mine comes from but it really does intrigue me, however, just to reassure you it is just a curiosity!!! I am perfectly safe to be on the forum!
I just finished three books recently, two were mediocre and one was great.
The great one was "The World According to Mr. Rogers", it's a little book full of quotes by Fred Rogers. It was both enlightening and moving; I was reading it on my lunch break at work and had to stop several times because it simply brought me to tears. It is a simple book, but it really makes the reader want to live a better life.
On to the mediocre- I read "It's Good to Be the King- Sometimes" by Jerry "The King" Lawler. He's a famous American wrestler and sports announcer. He's had an interesting life, but the book was really just a bit of fluff. Worse, I went to his website after I read the book and almost instandly over 150 different spyware files dropped on my computer! Several hours and $50 later I have them all off, but I'll never go there again!
I also read "Shattered Love", an autobiography by actor Richard Chamberlain. It was interesting, but nothing that really knocked me out or that I would strongly recommend.
Next on my "to read" pile is one that I am reviewing for an American librarian's magazine. It's the newest R.L. Stine book in the "Dangerous Girls" series, called "The Taste of the Night." Its about teen girls who are vampires- it should be good.
