It was a mighty performance from the man they call Meat Loaf at the WACA Ground last night. Thousands of people packed into the venue to witness a performance that resembled a lavish theatre production rather than a concert. Meat Loaf did not disappoint his legion of fans, belting out a mix of his classics and new tunes. The Texan singer looked energised and fit and proved his voice had not lost any of its edge since bursting on the rock scene in the late 70's.He added theatrical touches to his performances by role playing with his back up singers and changing costume on stage.Proving that rigorous touring had not tarnished his sense of humour the performer joked with the audience when he requested they stand up and sing."I want to ask you a question right now," he said. "Are you too old to stand up ? Because I would have to be one of the oldest people here and I have been standing up for the past 45 minutes." "We are going to sing Two Out Of Three Aint Bad and we are going to sing it together."The Meat Loaf phenomenon began in 1977 with the release of the album Bat Out Of Hell which has sold more than 30 million copies worldwide. He performs at the WACA Ground again tonight.
Hey, this is where I live, I train at the WACA 2 or 3 times a week during the cricket season, and every time I walk into a room or something I think, "Wow, Meat coulda been here, he coulda been standing right here where I am now!" Lol, I get more of a jitter knowing that Meat's been there rather than the fact that its the top cricket ground in WA!
