Yes, this song is amazing. It takes a very special and skilled singer to pack so much genuine emotion into a phrase like "he was dangerous and drunk and defeated and corroded by failure and envy and hate"- it's sort of a loaded sentence- so much alliteration-, but Meat makes it sound perfectly natural.

Amazing emotion and passion in this one.. the first time I heard it.. I was in awe....the story could of been taken right off a page in my life! When I was 19, a boy I grew up with, was in a motorcycle accident, just down the road and sadly I was there when he passed on(waiting for the ambulance)... and I suffered greatly from mental abuse as a child(my father) and you all know about me and the hubby.. young and dating. This is what trully amazes me about Jimmy, the man comes up with the most amazing stories.. that really reflect our lives, and Meat with his powerful voice, passion and emotions.. make them come alive.. they hit home for the listener... can't really explain it in words... but always in off what they create! ... this song is all everyone has said.. but ... i just can't listen to it on a cd.... it depresses me... conjures up... such sad pictures in my mind...and yet... i love the vid... maybe just watching Meat singing it... watching Meat sing it is comforting and gives hope.. i don't know... then... i did have the VH1 version... just Meat and a piano playing..and him... just..breaking down at the end.. him looking off... to that somewhere in his mind... tears in his eyes.. then wiping his eyes..... made me clutch my chest and weep... but it was okay after... it was Meat... and just watching him... is such a joy... and listening... even beyond joy..wotever that is...

Its such an emotional song, its such a powerful song.
the voice, the music, both so powerful, beautiful, and possibly my favourite track on Bat 2. But its so hard to choose. But definetly an epic song. Looking for more music like this on BAT III.
