Forum guidelines and ethics

This forum is intended to be a pleasant place where those of us who are fans of Meat Loaf can gather to chat about the man and his work, or about anything that takes our fancy. The operative word is "pleasant", and any posts which are profane, abusive, flaming or intended to upset others are not welcome.  

ROL is a website which welcomes Meat fans of all ages, and posts in the forum should take account of this, so that it is a warm, friendly and safe place to visit.

It's organised into separate sections so it should be easy to find your way around. Have a look at the threads in sections before you start a new one, as what you want to say may fit with a topic thread that's already been started. 

In particular we ask you to bear in mind that this is a forum on a website dedicated to Meat Loaf, and whilst he is open to genuine constructive comment about his work, we expect anyone posting here to respect his feelings and to afford him the courtesy he should be able to expect as a given from his fans.    

Forum rules

1.  We won't tolerate abuse, profanity or flaming of others

2.  We expect everyone to remember Meat Loaf has  feelings, and show him courtesy and respect

3.   No libellous posts or personal attacks

4.  Leaving the url to your Meat Loaf website is fine, but any general advertising will be removed (such as spam messages, chain letters,  hoaxes, adverts)

5.  No bootleg sites to be advertised

6.  Multiple user accounts are not acceptable practice, with the exception of other family members    

Forum Moderation

If the rules, guidelines and ethics of this forum are breached we will take action. This will mean that anything deemed to be offensive to Meat or other visitors, or intended to flame will be edited, and the person responsible for the post will receive an email explaining why we have taken this action and warning them that should this occur again their registration will be cancelled.  

We do not believe this will be an issue for the overwhelming majority of people who register, because we know you are fans of Meat Loaf and would not wish to write anything that would be hurtful to him. For the very few who might feel differently, we will take swift action to ensure this forum remains a safe haven for Meat and his fans.

Cancellation of Registrations

Any person whose registration is cancelled will have their IP address barred. This is a unique number assigned by your Internet provider, so an individual can be tracked and barred, even if they post under multiple names and/or email addresses. Posting using someone else's alias is not allowed.
