One of the most powerful songs on the CD. The level of emotion that Meat brings to it is nothing short of amazing .... the first time I listened to it, I cried , and to this day, I still get goosebumps everytime I listen to it. Sadly I haven't had the opportunity to see Meat sing it live ... which, from what I've heard, is a truly emotional experience. However, with the possibiltiy of the upcoming live CDs (board tapes), I'll still be able to visualize him on stage while I listen ... and to me, that's the next best thing to being there. Vicki
You have heard DIST live- Meat sang it at the Clearwater show in December 2002! Of course, at that time none of us had ever heard it before, so that made it harder to remember- so far as we knew it was just "a new song". He went to the left side of the stage, chatted a bit about the new album, then sat down and sang DIST. (He also did Tear Me Down, remember the flip cards?)

Maybe he did, but I just don't remember it for some reason ....
I remember him singing both Tear Me Down and Crazy Like A Mercury And I clearly remember seeing him sitting there on the stool in the middle of the stage talking about the CD ... he asked us if we wanted to hear a verse from CHSIB, but for some reason Patti wasn't ready, and after a couple of seconds they went into 2 Out Of 3 Ain't Bad (I think).
I am 99.99% sure he sang DIST at Clearwater, because after the show my friend and I were arguing about the name of the new album- I said CHSIB, and she thought it was DIST, because thats the song he sang after talking about the new album. Either way, I was so glad to see him in concert he could have sung anything and I would have been pleased!

You might be right It's funny I don't remember it ... but like you, I was just so thrilled to be there that he could have sung anything and I would have been happy It was a great show !!
Meat didn't sing this one "live" either, when I saw him at Meadowbrook last summer. Like you say though, I hope to see(if that's possiable) and hear Meat sing it live. I get really into this song and love belting out the lines " I'd drag myself through fire at your side" and "I want to take you in the backseat now and slowly drive you home". There is such overwhelming passion in this song, it's amazing. J.
