I must add.. who ever dubbed this song "The Ultimate Car Make-out Song" was right on the money imo.  J.

Paradise has a lot of memories for me as I argued over the words with my partner, the first time i met him. Of course he was wrong and I was right, bless him, but even 10yrs later we still laugh about it. And since it has always been our song.

Paradise is a classic .. plain and simple

I love the album version, but, IMO, it's one of those songs that you have to see performed live to thoroughly enjoy it.  It's the interaction between Meat and Patti .. from the makeout scene to the infamous fight scene .. that brings the song to life

Every time he performs it, he adds a different twist .. which has kept it alive and fresh for the last 25 years

Paradise was my very first "favorite" Meat song.  I've probably said this a million times, but one of the best moments of my senior prom was convincing the DJ to spin Paradise as the evening wound down.   That was the ultimate- singing along "we were barely 17/and we were barely dressed" when I (and all my friends) were in fact barely 17!  (I won't comment on the barely dressed bit, natch!)  Ah, to be 17 again...though I'd pick a much better prom date if I could do it again!  (Do you suppose Meat was available in Central Florida in April of 87?)

Yes Vicki, to see this song performed "live" is something else... I will never forget the first time I saw Meat and Patti bring this song to life on stage, back in '94. I laughed my fool head off, when they started fighting and Meat walks away.. then Patti removes the long  prom dress and is then in this short sexy white dress, Meat ignores her and finally she gets his attention, he turns around and stares open mouthed in surprize at how good Patti looks, and says " well maybe one more time" and they kiss and make up. I love it! Ever since that night, I see them act this out in my head, everytime I hear "Paradise"     J.

IMHO the best version of Paradise is from the end of Rock And Roll hero - the way he holds that note, and then gets the audience to sing along - absolutely superlative...
