I tottaly agree Jeanie it is a driving song, I don't drive myself but have often had to tell my partner to watch his speed while we have been playing it loud and getting in to the feel of it.
Well Heat, just keep in mind that you'll be in good company.. as David Letterman has openly admitted getting speeding tickets, while driving and listening to Bat. J.

There is not one song of Meats that I dislike although I obviously have my favourites. My favourite song of his and of all time is ' Bat Out Of Hell '. People talk of enjoying different songs depending on their mood which I totally agree with but I find that I enjoy this song however I'm feeling. It is the song that introduced me to the great man and I have never looked back since our first meeting twenty three years ago. Interestingly, my favourite version is the live one at the end of the C.H.S.I.B. album... the raw passion of Meat's voice, the guitar, the drums...awesome, the heartbeat... I truly loose myself as it plays to the depths of my heart and soul...and my head can't help but bang! The only two additions I could make to it if I could would be to have the words 'crawling' and 'bell' from the Rock n Roll hero version edited on to it... the way he sings those two words sends shivers up my spine...soooooooo sexy!!! I can listen to it anywhere but nothing beats hearing it in my car... especially driving on a hot, sunny day... windows down etc etc...very, very loud volume...sheer heaven! It is also to be my funeral song! I remember a kid at our school getting killed in a motorbike accident and having that played at his funeral... twenty one years ago... and here I am wanting the same song played... but hopefully not too soon! How about that for a song that's stood the test of time! I could go on and on about this song but enough is enough...however I have to say that every time I listen to it I enjoy it just as much as that first time I heard it...if not more!
Hi Caff, fancy meeting you here!! Going off topic a bit, but I just wanted to follow on from your post, where you talk about the way Meat sings certain words. The way he says 'Come on'.............drives me crazy!!!!!!!!! Particularly love it in Tear Me Down - and on Storytellers...ooohhhh yeah!! Is he one helluva sexy guy or what????????Ahem...sorry, back to topic!!!

True story: In my second year at York University in the dance program, we were asked to bring in 'interesting movement' videos to discuss in class...I brought in the vid for Bat Out of Hell- The prof though I was a bit 'batty' (oh that's a bad one) but I explained that the gestural work that Meat does in that video is the most passionate little orgiastic improv. I've ever seen!!!
LOve the song LOVE the video-- Can't watch it without getting overly worked up...I've always wanted to choreograph to it...
