Surpassed yourself again .. this time with the MSO

"Thank you, that was wonderful" seems so inadequate to say for the new DVD with the MSO. The concert was indeed wonderful, the effects superb, and to hear you sing FCOL again something to treasure. It brought tears to my eyes when you sang it at Clearwater in Storytellers, and did the same again when I heard it this time around  .. but now I don't have to close my eyes and visualise you singing it .. I have it safely here to enjoy again whenever I want. With this DVD you really have surpassed your habitually impressive record

But I've always said when people have wittered on about the theatre that you weave into a live concert (rather than just singing the songs as they have been recorded), that I'd be happy if Meat just came on stage, sat down and talked for a couple of hours. And in the commentary for the DVD that is exactly what you did. You often say you'd have liked to be a stand-up comedian .. and I've always thought that whilst it would have been a waste of that great voice and the theatre, as a born raconteur you would have been hugely successful in that role too ..  in the style used by Eddie Izzard who just comes on stage with a few themes and improvises, gently rambling from one topic to another and following his fancy ..

To be able to listen to you talk for two and a half hours, making me smile and laugh as you talked about the show, shared stories about the songs, yourself, the band members was priceless and the best gift you have ever given me ..  just like watching the show with you sitting next to me. Everything on the UK DVD was marvellous; the show, the additional tracks, the photo album with options for background songs, the interview ..   but the commentary is just the best thing you have ever laid in my lap .. and for that I thank you from the bottom of my heart ..  If you do a similar DVD for Bat3 my cup would run over .. and the one I have will be treasured forever.

The body piercing you mentioned btw is a Prince Albert    .. oh .. and the vest? .. snazzy!! And honey .. if you came on stage in a pink Mr Blobby suit wearing a sack you'd still radiate magnetism and charisma and be able to maintain your status as the Sex God .. so don't burn the vest .. auction it here and send the proceeds to Great Ormand Street Hospital for Children

Thank you Meat so very, very much.  Caryl xoxo

I have to add my bit as well

Meat, what a fantastic DVD.  It was well worth the wait.  I finally got to see it only on the 25th January 2005.  Im glad that DVD dont wear out really easy.  As I have played it over and over again.

I love the idea of your commentry.  It was great to hear what you thought about it and how you were feeling on stage at the time.

My only question is

Meat, please dont make this your last visit to Australia.  You have such a legion of fans here, we would all come out and see you again, and again. I even have my 8 and 7 year old sons hooked.  Last night when my son was going to bed "Paradise" came on the radio and he called out to me "Mum, Meats on the radio"

Your concert in Perth on the Sunday night, was the first I had seen.

I'm sorry but I have not been available when you came the other times, or I wasnt in the right place at the right time.

We will have to ask the "powers who be" not to make it so cold this time.  It was really strange weather for Perth in March.

Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please PleasePlease Please Please come back to us.

Lots of Love

Trudy, Perth Western Australia
